TICSEP, is proud to showcase the success of our "Green Business" program with Arkong Royal Farms. This initiative focused on our "Youth in Sustainable Agriculture," by providing crucial advisory services and start-up support to young farmers. The program fosters the creation of sustainable jobs, the production of healthy and affordable food, and ultimately contributes to reducing hunger and food inflation. We identified this promising young farmer and assessed their land. Initial soil tests revealed a significant challenge: predominantly sandy soil, which struggles to retain water during dry seasons. This limited Arkong Royal Farms' ability to cultivate crops during the dry seasons. To help, TICSEP's team of experts didn't shy away from the challenge. We implemented a solution focused on enriching the soil with organic manure, including plant biomass and poultry litter. This organic approach significantly improved the soil's water retention capacity, fertility, temperature regulation, and overall productivity. The results have been nothing short of remarkable. Today, Arkong Royal Farms not only thrives during the dry season but has also expanded its workforce. The farm now proudly employs 12 additional individuals across the production and sales value chain. This translates to a positive impact not just on the farm's success but also on the livelihoods of these 12 individuals and their families.
